At Freedom Range Farms, we understand the time, care, and dedication that goes into raising livestock—because we raise our own. Like many families, we realized during the COVID lockdowns that if we wanted dependable access to healthy, vaccine-free meat, we would need to raise it ourselves. Along the way, we heard too many stories from friends who questioned whether the meat they received was truly from their own animals. That didn’t sit right with us. So we built a service centered on trust, transparency, and quality—giving families and farmers confidence that their animals are handled with care and processed with integrity.

On-Farm Processing — Less Stress for Your Animals 
We come directly to your farm, eliminating the stress of transportation. Keeping animals calm results in better-quality meat and a smoother overall experience. 

Traditional Butchering Done Right 
Our training includes full butcher certification coursework and hands-on experience with a traditional artisanal butcher. We use old-world hand-cutting techniques that take a little more time—but produce better results. 

Carefully Aged for Superior Quality After processing, quarters are dry-aged under close supervision.
Typically, aging lasts about 14 days, though larger or older animals may benefit from longer aging periods to enhance tenderness and flavor. 

Your Meat — Guaranteed 
We work exclusively on your animal until the job is complete.
You receive 100% of your meat back, properly cut, packaged, and ready for your freezer. Our Commitment to Quality We know that the animals you raise are meant to feed your family. That responsibility matters to us. That’s why we:

  • Never mix your meat with another customer’s
  • Leave offal on-site for burial or composting
  • Thoroughly clean all equipment between jobs
  • Carefully evaluate cuts to maximize quality and yield

Understanding Processing Pricing We believe in clear, straightforward pricing with no surprises. 

Cattle Processing There are three weights to understand: 
Live Weight
Weight of the animal before processing. 
Hanging Weight
Weight after skinning and gutting
(typically 45%–55% of live weight
Packaged Weight
Final usable meat
  • 50%–55% of hanging weight (dry aged)
  • 60%–65% of hanging weight (wet aged)
Cattle Processing Rate:
$2.00 per pound (Hanging Weight) -- (so a 1400lb cow will cost about $1400)
Hog Processing
  • $1.50 per pound
  • Minimum Fee: $300
  • Sausage: $2.00 per pound
Lamb & Goat
  • $200 per animal
  • Minimum Fee: $300
Wild Game & Small Animals
  • Deer — Minimum $150
  • Rabbits — $10 each
  • Chickens — $7 each
  • Quail — $3 each
Pricing may vary based on travel distance and minimum animal requirements.
